Teacher: Dana Marsh

Ordained 2007, Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism
Lotus petal detail

Dana Marsh has spent many years practicing meditation and studying the buddhadharma under the guidance of her root teacher, Anam Thubten Rinpoche. In 2007, he ordained her as a dharma teacher in the Nyingma lineage of Tibetan Buddhism.

She is the author of Extraordinary Freedom: Buddhist Wisdom for Modern Times, and serves as spiritual director of Heart of the Dharma. Her teaching style is contemporary and easy to relate to — she conveys the dharma by pointing directly to the heart of the matter, with love, humor, and devotion to the truth.

“From now on I will always embrace loving kindness, unconditional caring to all those who come into my presence looking for the wealth of holy Dharma… I will regard this task as a way to fulfill my life's mission, to be a Bodhisattva and to give away myself to others through the generosity of wisdom and compassion.”

From Dana's ordination vows, 2007

Real screenshots, original site vs. this redesign concept

Homepage

Original: small centered logo in a wide empty header, a low-contrast slideshow video with hard-to-read overlaid text. Redesign: one real photo carries the message directly, with a clear next step (see practice times, or join the live stream).

Meet the Teacher

Original: dense unbroken paragraph, the ordination vow given no special visual weight despite being the most moving material on the site. Redesign: real photo alongside the bio, and the vow set apart as its own quoted passage.
